What types of rails do magnetic lights have?

Surface-mounted track: It is compatible with standard Knauf ceilings, facilitating easy installation and maintaining ceiling height. There are no visible frames, and the rail width is only 25mm.

Recessed track: This track is designed based on golden proportions and blends well together regardless of the ceiling height. Its compact dimensions include a mere 45mm height of the mounting bracket and a 25mm inner rail width.

Important notes for installing magnetic rail lights

To ensure precise execution, having an installation plan is crucial for calculating the number of transformers, connectors, and end caps for the magnetic rail lights. The installation plan is also important for calculating the number of lit and unlit sections of the tracks.

In the case of installing recessed tracks without an edge, the gypsum board contractor creates cut lines in the ceiling using the installation plan. Knauf ceilings consist of main and secondary structures, and sometimes, it becomes necessary to cut the gypsum board ceiling to accommodate multi-track lights with greater depth. This can compromise the ceiling’s structural integrity and lead to delays due to repeated reinforcement by the gypsum board contractor.

The edgeless surface-mounted track of magnetic rail lights is designed in such a way that a groove is present between the luminaire housing and the edge of the gypsum board. The connection screws inside these grooves are sealed, and at the end, the groove is filled with thin work to prevent cracking in this area caused by movement or pressure when removing or repositioning the lights on the rail.

Most multi-track lighting systems have non-integrated and non-standard magnetic adapters, which can cause installation and maintenance issues in the future.

The mechanical lock button ensures the secure connection of the magnetic light to the rail.
